Route
The 13-day hiking tour first of all takes us from Zurich via Einsiedeln to Lake of Lucerne in Central Switzerland. Along the Grand Tour of Switzerland we continue through the UNESCO biosphere reserve of Entlebuch to the Lake of Thun near Bern. From here we embark on tours in the Bernese Alps and in the Jura Mountains, before heading for Fribourg and hiking trails in the Canton of Vaud via the La Gruyère region. En route to the Lower Valais region, we have the choice of several breathtakingly beautiful hikes offering panoramic views. This is followed by two hiking days dedicated solely to the other-worldly and secluded southern valleys in the Canton of Valais, such as Val d’Herens, Val de Bagnes or Val d’Anniviers. As we continue to drive over Nufenen or Furka Pass, the open-top PostBus is completely in its element. The Greina tour, which is fit for a king, takes our small group of hikers from the Blenio Valley in the Canton of Ticino, across the magnificent Greina Plateau to the Canton of the Grisons. Here, the idyllic village of Tschiertschen is the ideal starting point for the most wonderful, amazing hikes in the Canton of the Grisons. The scenic journey back to Zurich on the Grand Tour of Switzerland, via the Bündner Herrschaft region and to Appenzell perfectly rounds off our Swiss tour.
